Specifically, every member of the University community should be aware that St. Francis is strongly opposed to sex-based discrimination and sexual harassment, and that such behavior is prohibited by university policy. It is the intention of the university to take whatever action may be necessary to stop, prevent, correct, and, if necessary, discipline behavior which violates this policy.<\/p><p>As a recipient of federal financial assistance for education activities, the University of St. Francis is required by Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (Title IX) to ensure that all of its education programs and employment activities do not discriminate on the basis of sex. Sex discrimination is prohibited under Title IX and by The University Policy, and it includes sex-based harassment, sexual assault, dating and domestic violence, stalking, quid pro quo harassment, hostile environment harassment, disparate treatment, and disparate impact.\u00a0<\/p><p>The Office of Campus Culture, in partnership with Student Life, the Office of Human Resources, and the Office of Accessibility Services, is charged with monitoring the university\u2019s compliance with federal, state and institutional polices that promote a nondiscriminatory and harassment-free environment. The Director of Campus Culture is also the designated Title IX Coordinator who receives allegations of sex-based discrimination or harassment.<\/p><p>The Title IX Coordinator, supported by the Deputy Title IX Coordinator and the Title IX Core Team, has the overall responsibility for the implementation of the Title IX program at the University of St. Francis.
