Business analytics refers to the skills, technologies, practices needed to explore and investigate the business, economic or social activities of a context. You’ll learn to define that context, from people buying things online from a company’s website, to the number of people flying to vacations spots around the world.\u00a0<\/p>

Business analytics focuses on developing new insights and understanding of business performance based on data and statistical methods.<\/p>

In business analytics you will build the skills to understand\u00a0 technology and business– To understand the systems that are used when you “click” on a purchase button and the psychology of why you chose that item and clicked at that time.\u00a0 Business analytics makes extensive use of analytical modeling and numerical analysis, including explanatory and predictive modeling, and fact-based management to drive decision making.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

Business Analytics is a new, active, and growing field with opportunities around the world.\u00a0 As systems open new markets and technology creates new businesses, you will need to know how to identify and analyze patterns in data using visualization, statistical analysis, and data gathering tools.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The future is wide open– According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of business and data analyst occupations is projected to grow at nearly 30% over the next ten years\u2014much faster than the average for all occupations. That will result in approximately 50,400 new jobs.\u00a0 The research also found that\u00a0 analysts make a mean annual salary of $95,560 (in 2019).\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Faculty members and administrators in USF\u2019s College of Business & Health Administration are extremely involved in the regional business community. That means they\u2019ve got connections, and they\u2019re constantly being exposed to companies offering impressive internship opportunities. So many, in fact, that there are typically more opportunities than students to fill them! This is a key advantage to becoming a business major at USF.<\/p>

While not a requirement for graduation, internships are strongly encouraged because they offer junior and senior students invaluable real-world learning experiences. Most internships are paid experiences (though some are unpaid) and involve 10\u201325 hours of work per week for academic credit.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
