Scholarships of up to $11,000 per year will be awarded to 16 selected students.<\/p>\n<p style=\"display:none;\">In 2019 the University of St. Francis (USF) was awarded a grant through the United States Department of Health and Human Services\u2019 <strong>Advanced Nursing Education Workforce (ANEW) program<\/strong>. The$1.4 million grant will support collaboration between USF and the Will County Community Health Center (WCCHC) to offer high-quality clinical experiences for USF students in the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Psychiatric\/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) programs.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p style=\"display:none;\">The grant supports the placement of USF MSN students at WCCHC or in another rural or undeserved community within Illinois to expand the availability of primary care and mental health services for residents of Will County in northeastern Illinois and, the introduction of telehealth services education for the residents in rural Illinois.<\/p>\n<p style=\"display:none;\">USF MSN students will complete either a minimum of 2 clinical rotations, or 300 clinical hours for FNP, or 334 clinical hours for PMHNP, at the Will County Health Department.<\/p>\n<p>The ANEW program provides scholarships for students in the family nurse practitioner and psychiatric\/mental health nurse practitioner programs. Scholarships of up to $15,000 per year will be awarded to 16 selected students.<\/p>\n<p>The University of St. Francis Leach College of Nursing was awarded a grant worth close to $1.5 million through the United States Department of Health and Human Services\u2019 Advanced Nursing Education Workforce (ANEW) program. The Leach College of Nursing will partner with Above &amp; Beyond Family Recovery Center in Chicago and Will-Grundy Medical Clinic in Joliet to build academic-clinical partnerships to facilitate Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Psychiatric\/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) clinical training to develop and sustain clinical faculty and preceptors as needed. The funding will train APRN students to practice in underserved and rural communities or state and local health departments within Illinois.<\/p>\n<p>USF MSN students will complete either a minimum of two (2) clinical rotations, or 300 clinical hours for FNP, or 334 clinical hours for PMHNP, at Above &amp; Beyond Family Recovery Center and Will-Grundy Medical
