data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The Honors Program is designed to help academically motivated and prepared students make the most of their college experience through honors courses and projects. Most of the academic work in the Honors Program fulfills university and major requirements. There are two tracks of the Duns Scotus Honors Program: a four-year Fellows track and a two-year Scholars track. As a Fellow, in the first two years students take honors Foundations courses, participate in enrichment experiences, and engage in service learning. In the junior and senior years, students take honors courses and work on honors projects as directed by the faculty who supervise their major. In addition, students take three one-hour interdisciplinary seminars and continue to participate in enrichment experiences and service learning. The Duns Scotus Scholars are expected to fulfill the latter half of the program. All Duns Scotus Honors students complete their academic career by producing an honors thesis. The four-year curriculum for Fellows fulfills requirements in the university\u2019s general education as well as requirements in the fellow\u2019s chosen major.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-accordion-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-1072\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-1072\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon elementor-accordion-icon-left\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon-closed\"><i class=\"fas fa-plus\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon-opened\"><i class=\"fas fa-minus\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a class=\"elementor-accordion-title\" tabindex=\"0\">Fellows Academic Work<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-1072\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-1072\"><p>The Duns Scotus honors fellows curriculum consists of:<\/p><ul><li>Separate honors courses with service learning<\/li><li>Contracts to do honors work in non-honors courses<\/li><li>One-credit interdisciplinary seminars<\/li><li>Presentation of a research project<\/li><li>Submission of quality work to a journal or conference and thesis\/capstone completion<\/li><\/ul><p>During the freshman and sophomore years, most Duns Scotus honors fellows:<\/p><ul><li>Will take honors sections of both the required freshmen Foundations classes<\/li><li>Complete at least one contracted honors course (3 credit-hours or more, usually in general education)<\/li><\/ul><p>During the junior and senior years, Duns Scotus honors fellows will need to complete:<\/p><ul><li>Three upper-level courses (9 credit-hours or more) in their major discipline<\/li><li>A research component\/project in one of the major contract courses that fulfills honors criteria<\/li><li>Three one-credit hour interdisciplinary honors seminars<\/li><\/ul><p>An honors thesis or capstone project that is of sufficient quality to be submitted to an undergraduate academic journal or for presentation at an academic conference<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-accordion-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-1073\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" data-tab=\"3\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-1073\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon elementor-accordion-icon-left\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon-closed\"><i class=\"fas fa-plus\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon-opened\"><i class=\"fas fa-minus\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a class=\"elementor-accordion-title\" tabindex=\"0\">Other Requirements for Freshmen Students<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-1073\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"3\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-1073\"><p><strong>Enrichment Experiences \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0Students must attend at least three enrichment experiences each year that challenge and broaden their intellectual boundaries. The Duns Scotus Program sponsors at least six shared enrichment experiences a year. Fellows are required to attend at least one of these events each year. The other two enrichment experiences can be satisfied by attending University or local community events.<\/p><p><strong>Good Standing \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0In order to remain in good standing in the program, a student must maintain an overall 3.25GPA. If the GPA falls below 3.25, the student will remain in the program on a probationary status and will have one semester to bring the GPA back up to the required level. Applicants must have a 3.25 cumulative GPA from USF or their prior institutions.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-accordion-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-2102\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-2102\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon elementor-accordion-icon-left\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon-closed\"><i class=\"fas fa-plus\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon-opened\"><i class=\"fas fa-minus\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a class=\"elementor-accordion-title\" tabindex=\"0\">Scholars Academic Work<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-2102\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-2102\"><p>The Scholars curriculum consists of:<\/p><ul><li>Contracts to do honors work in upper level major courses<\/li><li>One-credit interdisciplinary seminars<\/li><li>Submission of quality work to a journal or conference and thesis\/capstone completion<\/li><\/ul><p>During the junior and senior years, Scholars will need to complete<\/p><ul><li>Three upper-level courses (9 credit-hours or more) in their major discipline<\/li><li>A research component\/project in one of the major contract courses that fulfills honors criteria<\/li><li>Three one-credit hour interdisciplinary honors seminars<\/li><li>An honors thesis or capstone project that is of sufficient quality to be submitted to an undergraduate academic journal or for presentation at an academic conference<\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-accordion-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-2103\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" data-tab=\"3\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-2103\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon elementor-accordion-icon-left\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon-closed\"><i class=\"fas fa-plus\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon-opened\"><i class=\"fas fa-minus\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a class=\"elementor-accordion-title\" tabindex=\"0\">Other Requirements for Scholars<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-2103\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"3\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-2103\"><p><strong>Enrichment Experiences \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0Students must attend at least three enrichment experiences each year that challenge and broaden their intellectual boundaries. The Duns Scotus Program sponsors at least six shared enrichment experiences a year. Scholars are required to attend at least one of these events each year. The other two enrichment experiences can be satisfied by attending University or local community events.<\/p><p><strong>Good Standing \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0In order to remain in good standing in the program, a student must maintain an overall 3.25 GPA. If the GPA falls below 3.25, the student will remain in the program on a probationary status and will have one semester to bring the GPA back up to the required level.
